Full westy. Lower bunk I sleep head to the rear usually but not always. Wife and daughter sleep upper bunk, head to front.
Now that we have 2 new dogs I have no idea what is going to happen this summer! _________________ 1990 Syncro 16" DoppleKabine 2.1 DJ 112i

Both directions, depending. When its the two of us we sleep head forwards, either upstairs or down. When I'm by myself I'll sleep head into the cave downstairs or head forward upstairs, depending on whether I want to sleep in or not!. _________________ '84 Vanagon GL 1.9 WBX

First camping trip I slept head to back in my full camper Westy. Hit my head three times on the A/C cabinet while sitting up.
I now sleep head to front. _________________ Going to where the grass is bluer...

I've always slept with my head towards the front, mostly due to the feeling of claustrophobia between the hatch and side cabinet with my head at the back. However, last summer I discovered that I have a screen for the back and sleeping at the back is way nicer with the hatch open. I might be doing more of that when the weather is nice. _________________ 89 Syncro Westy - GW 2.5, now with a double knob job

yeah cozy would be one way to describe the sleeping arrangements in our VW's .... .... but they are pretty good, and once you've bonked your head real good a few times you learn not to do that again, eh ? .... HA!
the upper bunk is for extra clothes, my guitar, etc etc .... it all works ! |

Heads to the back! We have literally stayed awake most of the night, watching stars/shooting stars from our favorite campsite atop the Blue Ridge Mountains. The "new" Hightop will NOT have the tall Westfalia corner cabinet, in order to get the best "skyview" from the bed.... |

Me too! More interesting is my 5yo sleeping in the hammock also turns himself, while asleep to the which ever end the level says is higher. Every single time! Guess he does not like the blood flowing to his head...

In our several split screen campers, we often slept heads forward so my wife could use the overhead cabinet as a footrest, kinda stirrup- style. _________________ It doesn't matter where you start, it all comes together; it all falls apart. |
