I think most have thier panels mounted. Maybe pm a classified seller with doors or one with panels for sale. Might have a better chance of finding those measurements? |

You need to clarify "depth". Depth to the surface of the sheetmetal in the dimple, or depth to the inner surface of the sheetmetal. It's such a small dimension that the difference is going to be like a 20% variance.
Also, if I can read between the lines - are you simply wanting to find these clips, because many have. _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader |

Thanks for the replies!
To clarify what I am looking for:
On the door, there is recessed areas and a hole for which the door panel clips fit into. Im looking for the depth measurement of this recessed area, taken from the surrounding sheet metal, measuring the depth of the surface of the sheet metal in the dimple.
Not looking for the clips. I've built carbon fiber door panels for the van and I'm working on a way to fasten them to the door without drilling a bunch of holes. _________________ 1987 Syncro converted to Westy. Supercharged WBX. Restoration almost complete!

Ah got it. Heck, I'd use magnets in this day and age. A dozen strong contemporary magnets on that sheetmetal and the panel's not moving. _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader |

You read my mind Doug...
I'm looking at using magnets. What I'm trying to figure out is the thickness of the magnets I need, so they sit in that recessed spot and the door panel will sit flush. _________________ 1987 Syncro converted to Westy. Supercharged WBX. Restoration almost complete!

Great idea! Says the guy who has to pull his panel for the third time in a year to fix a lock mechanism that popped off...
Will be interested in hearing how it goes. Be sure you choose a glue that's automotive interior grade (surprisingly hot temp range). _________________ 1987 2WD Wolfsburg Vanagon Weekender "Mango", two fully locked 80 Series LandCruisers. 2017 Subaru Outback boxer. 1990 Audi 90 Quattro 20V with rear locking differential, 1990 burgundy parts Vanagon. 1984 Porsche 944, 1988 Toyota Supra 5 speed targa, 2002 BMW 325iX, 1982 Toyota Sunrader |

Dave,
you caught me....I'm currently sitting right in front of my van with a beer in my hand. For the life of me I can't put the beer down to grab my calipers to measure.
Actually I am away for work and was hoping someone would have this measurement so I can order the parts I need.
But thanks for your post! _________________ 1987 Syncro converted to Westy. Supercharged WBX. Restoration almost complete!
