They toys weren't very price, they looked good for the money. I was tempted, but I don't have room for "stuff". Here is a great shot of an oval lumping down the road at 45mph with a bent back rim. Young guy was super proud of his Oval! _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |

Sorry for not keeping this up to date. I'm in Italy now and came across this beauty here in Lucca Italy ( a very old pre-Roman era walled town ). Parking permits are very hard to get here so this was a total shock. enjoy

A colleague sent me these photos he took in Italy last year, looks like a wedding with a VW convertible and a Rolls convertible as the 'cerimoni' cars.

Thanks for sharing those pics! I think it is great that it is paired with a RR at a wedding (cool over pomp?). Here is a very clean SB Vert that was in a parking area with in the walls.

hi manfred, good to hear you're still around!
i think those narrow front turn signals were till 1963 in europe, i know my 62 had them but my 64,65 and 66's all had the slightly wider ones.

Yes, I'm still going strong,Thanks!!Very cool pic of the kit car as well. I just noticed there is a 1963 plate on the back of the blue bug...Euro spec cars are an interesting mix of parts(especially in change over years). The local owners really take good care of the VW's, that is not easy to do in Italy. Almost every car here has a corner wiped out or side dented due to narrow streets and the general chaos of driving here. It's spooky to cross the street walking much less drive, better out in the country I'm sure. _________________ Fat chick owner/operator |
