Question, is this pre 52 Barndoor coat hook, not my picture but I have same coat hook all metal, not aluminum. A little different than 52 to 58 aluminium coat hooks also has indentation on top side when resting in up lock position. Anyone with early Barndoor have the same coat hook, any information is helpful.
Thanks in advance Jimmy

As far as I know those hooks were accessory and were used in a lots of cars in the 50ies, 60ies, not a VW only part. Correct me if I´m wrong.

all aluminium ( except steel blade spring), I have the same as pictured! came from a VW. as Gerald mentioned these were accessory and universal fit, but maybe VW used them as OEM equipment for the first buses. these hooks don't have any casting or manufacturer numbers, but I guess they would be marketed by a companies like Hagus, GHE, Perohaus aso

This coat hook simular to aluminum coat hook but all metal not aluminum with indentation on topside, same as the one in picture on 51 Barndoor, maybe pre 52.
