The good - it goes 85 on the freeway
The bad - no engine!

How's that for a selling point.....

Why show picture of motor if it does not come with bus.

looks like the other ad was deleted.
While the idea of an engine being an option aside, I wonder what people think of the engine pricing.

Quote:
option 1

1641 dp NEW les than 500 miles on it, 90 horsepower, progressive carb, all parts new, oil radiator, A1 side winder exaust, alternator, electronic ignition, etc. 4,000

option 2

1600 single port head new REBUILT new pieces (no tins, carb, alternator, distributor, etc) 2,500

option 3

1500 lock engine 500

4K for the chromed motor? 2500 for a rebuildt long block? 500 for a seized core?

The front two skylights look off.

It's really hard to get the front 2 skylight windows to look 'perfect.' Every conversion I've seen, the front 2 windows just look a little bit off.

I was going to look for a picture, but he has one right in his ad!

Wasn't this one for sale elsewhere recently?
I think the term "daily driver" is used way too freely these days....

Maybe the truck that tows it is his daily driver? Smile

I like his driveway

Whenever I see photos like this I think about the excitement I would feel if I was just driving around and saw a house with all of that in front.

Is it just me or do the side gates look to be Single cab gates cut down in the front like a (Binz) gate ??

I get almost that same excitement every time I pull up to my house 😝

Hmmmm, good catch on those gates - that is strange.
Cut down I guess as Binz gates do not fit later Double Cabs.

That truck was in Northville, Michigan, at a hot rod shop down the street from where I work. They were selling it on eBay for a customer. Don't know what it sold for but the owner was looking to get $5K. It was pretty much all there, had a few NOS small parts and a second running motor.

This ad says $14,500 for everything he had but there were some options like no engine that could take it down to $13K or even below.

This bus has been for sale/sold on ebay more times than my ex-wife has been divorced (a lot).

Was for sale in San Diego on Ebay at least half a dozen times, now it's showing up in Michigan. I saw this thing in person. It's an ugly restoration.

I feel sorry for the person who bought it. I bet they got it and were like "NOPE!"

There was a discussion here in the past about how it was clearly a total nightmare resto, looked "thick" in the photos, and had massive visible issues.

Looking for a VW Volkswagen Bus Camper

I am searching for a salvage Volkswagen Bus Camper. It DOES NOT need to run. I am basically looking for a shell with all windows, tires, original VW emblem, headlights, and seating. Floors must be in good shape.
I will be using this as a outdoor cabana! You can have all the internal stuff (engine, etc) to make it work...don't need it! If it needs work...totally ok as I'm going to decorate it and redo it anyways! Rusty and needing a paint job welcome!!!!
***IT DOES NOT NECESSARILY HAVE TO BE A CAMPER...CAN BE REGULAR***

I pay cash! I am only willing to spend up to $1000 depending on the condition...so if its more than that, don't bother. Thanks Smile

Please text me at 252-622-8four9seven. Thank you!

Not just one, but TWO pics of the side of his tow vehicle!!! One at night AND one in the daylight. Just what you need to judge the condition of his....tow vehicle.

New member, today. No prices. "I know what these are worth" attitude but won't post a price. "Do bother me with low-ball offers". High asking prices are bringing all types of "sellers" out of the woodwork.

From the ad- ".....Please no neg. comments." OK. The gas tank looks like it hasn't completely rotted away or been hacked off or removed. Oh, yeah, along with the VIN and M-code plate needed to build a clone. Is there anything left of the OG bus that could be used to rebuild it? It really isn't even a parts bus. It is just a life support system for the VIN.

I just took a closer look at the engine bay shot and it doesn't appear that the PS panel with the VIN is even there. So, I retract my previous statement. It is not even a donor. It is just a pile of rust held together by paint and gravity.

I don't think either of his 2 busses would make it to my house on a trailer. How would you load it, other than in pieces as they fall off. They let these set too long in the dirt. Mother nature is seriously taking it back.
