How do you guys feel about the look?

I see lots of Ghias without it, Lots with it. I'm going to take mine out because it sags - And I was looking at replacements and deciding whether t I needed it or not. I'll probably replace it - Just curious to how you guys feel about it.

I like it if it looks non saggy! haha. Plus you don't want it to get pulled into the fan. I think it does give a little bit of sound insulation and heat insulation from the engine bay too but I see plenty of cars running without it.

I pulled mine, I think it looks better this way on a "Resto-mod". On a stock build...gotta be there.

I was actually looking at putting in a Aluminum firewall over the tar boards and possible other sound deadening insulation like this:

If you do use those I would line the backs with sound deadener before installing them and the engine firewall from the inside of the car and your set!

Yes that is the plan, plus adding more sound deadening to quiet the 1835 from the inside.

Looks isn't the issue. Very noisy without it. Fortunately my originals are in good shape.

Also what do you do about the sides?

I like it. I'd like it more if it had a foil backing personally.
