Some think that if your beetle has a padded dash, it's an engine donor. Some think that if it has push button door handles, it's a boat anchor.

Is it a driver or a trailer? The tow bar says it's been dragged. _________________ Glenn

Looks like the tow bar is an attachment at this point, with the chains and all -must be too much of a hassle to disconnect it. Or maybe its the bumper now? _________________ 1973 karmann ghia - current, not the last VW.

Or maybe it's their version of this bar on the Jeep?

One of the nicest Rods I've seen. I think it's the front end? |
I'm sorry but, this just looks like a giant soap box derby car. |
I like soap box derby cars. |
So do I, I have a nice vintage one in my garage. It's just that when I look at that "rod", all I can see is a giant soap box derby car which, in a way, wouldn't be bad if the intention was to build a giant street legal, VW powered soap box derby looking car.
|
Keith, do a search of early salt flats cars - like the So-Cal shop 34(?) and the Art Chrisman car I had mentioned earlier. The pointed nose and serious chop on an early Ford was the hot ticket if you wanted aerodynamic but not something like a belly pan car. I am certain that was the vibe the builder was after.....and I love it! |
I'm well aware of the salt flat cars, etc.
My point was, the first thing that pops into my head when I see that car is NOT salt flat land speed record car or anything of the sort, it's "soap box derby car". _________________ Formerly known in the forums as "OVALTEEN"
