I have resently purchased a 1972 181, yes it is a 1972 the Vin is a 182 which by all acounts is a 72. I have been told there where 400 imported in 72 then I have been told there where only 3. I would like to find a way to verify this.
I am looking for anyone else that has one or any information on differnces with 73. The tail lights and frt marker/turn are differnt. One thing I dont know is on a gas heater. there is not provision for the defrost lever not to say the dash has not been changed.
Very Happy

I am not sure of the exact numbers, but there wasn't many. Do you know if yours was one of the original imported, or maybe it was imported later on? Whats the tag #?

Congrats on your purchase! I have a '71 Mexican Thing, it came from Guadalajara in 2003. The front turn signals are different, no gas heater, and the dash is slightly different from US years (no defrost/lever). If you have a chance, pics would be great.
Enjoy!
Kris
