The older cast pedals look nicer and would be appropriate for your frame. I know the clutch cable location was moved inside the tunnel at least once. How far in from the edge the tube is located is the only critical dimension. If it is the same as both of your pedal assemblies then the one to use is up to you. I can say from experience that using a roller pedal in the early pedal assembly is a bit uncomfortable on long drives. |
thanks for the info i will keep that in consideration |

You have quite the project on your hands. About the same rusty place I started. Looks good so far. I noticed your body mold is almost identical to mine. The only 2 places I see a difference is the dash and the spots molded for the headlights. If you happen to know or find out who made your body let me know. In the meantime keep up the good work. _________________ skill comes by the constant repetition of familiar feats, not by one over bold attempt at a feat for which the doer is yet poorly prepared |

so my pedal dilema is solved. i took the newer base assembly with the factory roller assembly and put the older clutch and brake pedal on it. turns out all the shafts are the same size so i solved all my issues except the clutch and brake pedal return stop |

For fabbing, there is no engine size issues to be concerned about. The layout of exhaust COULD be an issue.
Nice job so far. _________________ If I knew what I was doing; I wouldn't be building a buggy! |

The only issue of difference is the exhaust. A 1200 is more narrow than a 1500/1600 at the exhaust ports by about 1 inch overall. So, if you have your final exhaust on hand, loosen the heads and spread them apart enough to get the exhaust on. You will need to loosen the intake and tins to do this.
It also will not have the dog house shroud if that makes any difference. _________________ Bad News Racing 2018 NORRA 1000 3rd in Class

this metal work takes longer then one would expect. a couple of hours a night just doesnt seem to be enough |
