Having an issue with dual carbs popping. I've tried everything except all new jets and emulsion tubes. Basically I just rebuilt a Type 4 2L new everything, AMC heads with opened up exhaust guides by my favorite machine shop. Valve job specs out, no leaks (tested when heads weren't installed). Solid lifters valves set at .006". Basically I have these carbs sync'd up, linkage pretty well dialed in, linkage pieces from linkage cross bar to carbs are almost vertical, each one with a slight tilt, exactly the same. Flow meter shows carbs are sync'd at idle. Give it gas carbs pop. Spray brake cleaner near where the intake bolts to the head, idle slows down. I have put the intakes on with 3 different style gaskets and finally resorted to the phenolic FI spacers to try to eliminate heat soak of the intakes. Also have used CB performance Type 4 paper gaskets and stock metal gaskets. I have glued each type of gasket to ensure a proper, leak free seal. What am I missing?! Thoughts suggestions all welcome. Thanks!!

Throttle shafts were completely worn out. I switched to a Progressive setup and I rebuilt the 32/36. Whatever.
