Hello all,
I know it seems like I have been trying to mount this windshield forever but in reality I was working on other problems on the Bermoco buggy. I plan on getting this done this week.
I would like to know what is the typical windshield angle. Looking through other posts it seems as though 60" from the top back seat/package area to the center of the top of the frame and 66.125 from the top back seat package area to the center of the lower frame.
I made up a jig to hold the windshield at this angle which is approximately 30 degrees from vertical and it looks good to me.
Looking at the Manx kick out instructions it says that the windshield is 18 degrees from vertical.
I have a new Manx rollbar that I am going to install and want to match the angles as well as using a Sombrero top
I welcome all inputs.

Generally at same angle as dash, where it mount to side of dash...

Thanks Dale,
The Bermoco has the dash and hood molded as one piece and that is why I am asking. Were most buggies dashes molded separately? |

On my buggy, I tried to get the screen at the same angle of rake as the roll bar.
Not the greatest pic but you get the idea.

This is what I mean as same angle....
If it slopes windshield back to much, then move top forward some.... It me its more where it looks visually correct.....
Also want to be sure you have room between windshield and steering wheel for "knuckles"...

GPM, That looks good. I want the angles to match so I will temp up the roll bar. Want to use the Sombrero top which is where I got the dimensions for the mounting of the windshield. Working out the geometry the angle of rake comes out to about 30 degrees.
Dale I see what you mean by the dash angle. What are you using to draw the lines on the pictures you post?
I also like your saying about it being a dune buggy and not a space shuttle.
Sometimes we can overthink things. My original intent was to piece it back together as is and use it for a fun car for puttering around in the foothills.
The windshield that came with it was a poor fit as well as being mounted backwards with the groove facing rearwards so now I have a new one and want to do it right.

I use two "tools" for my "art"....
One is WM SNAP to capture images, If I only want small portion....

And Good old MS Paint (comes with winders) to do drawings ( draw opaque mode unchecked) load pic into paint and put a few lines, circles and text into a pic.... Also most of my wiring schematics and such are created in Paint (copy and paste is wonderful)... Most computers have the tools, people just don't use them...
This is a fuel system for the uninformed done in PAINT (copy and paste and draw a few lines)...
Another graphic tool I use alot is IRFANVIEW...

I not a believer in complicated expensive software where it has a long learning curve....
