May 17 is the next Volkswagens on the Green event, in the Denver area.

I went to one 3 years ago, and it was a positive experience. I had my double cab at that one, then took it to my metal guy to be reworked. It's still there. One of these years it will be back at VWoG, and it will win a trophy for sure. I'm being patient!

I'd like to go again this year, and am debating which vehicle to take. I'll be bringing a bunch of stuff for the swap meet.

So -- who else is going?

(Does this belong in another forum or anything? I posted here because the Bay Windows are really the only thing I am interested in.)

You CAN'T. Remember? You sold all your Volkswagens three days ago.

I am planning on going. We are going to leave Saturday morning the 16th, drive to denver and stay at a friends house. Wifey is going to go to a concert at Red Rocks that night so Miles and I will go to the event with my buddy. Hoping to get Monday the 18th off from work so we can travel back that day. If not I will travel back Sunday night, but hope for this not to be the case.

What's your plan? Where do you plan on staying? Are you taking a bus up there, if so which one? Where are you located in Northern NM? Which route would you take to Denver?

Rich P.

I'm planning on going to Jerome Jamboree again this year too. I have the weeks before the event off and planing a week long camping adventure in Northern AZ.

I plan to go up a bit early, as my son is getting cut loose from college (CSU, in Fort Collins) the Friday before. I will stay up there, or with a colleague in Denver, most likely. Probably return home Sunday.

Who is playing at Red Rocks on Saturday? That is such a great venue!

I am trying to decide whether I should take the '79 Transporter (Snickers) which is running great, or the '75 Single Cab (working name: Arándano), which would get a LOT of attention and is great for the swap meet with that huge flatbed, but needs some work done before a trip like that. (Needs new front main seal, alternator, gas sender, speedometer, and brake booster, for starters. I just need the time to do it, but am very busy with work these days.)

I am located in Los Alamos (or Lost Almost, as we call it after the Cerro Grande Fire), NM. Yeah, THAT Los Alamos, where they still do nuclear weapons work.

The nicest route up there is US-285 the whole way, but I'll probably play it by ear.

A Dj named Tipper is playing, not sure who is opening. It's gonna be a classic Red Rocks phychedelic experience I'm sure.

Traveling back Sunday really makes for a loooong day. If I recall we were at the event at like 8am last year. Anyway, if I end up driving back on Sunday (really don't want to)we should try to Car-a-bus down 285 till our paths part ways.

I think you have to register for a swap booth, unlike Jerome.

Looks like I will be in attendance, I volunteered myself to be overnight security the night before. Apparently our bus club helps with this most years. Not sure what they secure though;)

I will have just moved in to Boulder. I may try to make it if I don't have to go back to Seattle and help with house projects. Would love to meet the new community. Is there a website with details?

There will be a thread on it in the events forum. I did a quick search but it didn't come up, I think they have a new thread for each years event. It will be up soon but they do have a web site. It did get a couple of links for you. One is about Denver and it has the local Denver shows listed on the last page. The second link is on an event I've created with a couple other guys. Welcome to Colorado!!!

I couldn't find the thread because apparently there isn't one. I didn't beleve it at first so I searched and searched and found nothing. It's not even listed on the home page under up coming events. What's up with that??? I was able find it on the inter-web and this year we will be joined by vintage air cooled Porsches.

We are still planning on leaving on Saturday morning and returning on Monday. Can't wait to go on another bus adventure and get away for the weekend. We'll see you all there.

Thanks! I found it too through the mighty Google. My bus is on the way to me from Seattle now. Hopefully it arrives here in time so I can drive it. Looking forward to meeting some new VW friends.
