I have been working with a shop to make a tachometer lens. Came out really nice. Probably going to get one for my speedometer since it has a crack. I could have them make a few if anyone is interested. |

I would be interested. Any idea how much they run?
I need one without the VDO logo on the bottom. I guess later speedometers had the VDO logo on the speedometer face itself. _________________ '65 1500 S [quareback]

What goes between the gas tank and the body? It seems I recall foam rubber, or something on a T1, but there was nothing when I removed mine. |
Originally, there's a thin foam gasket between the tank and the body...most of them self-destruct on their own without any help from people.
Of all of the cars I've owned, I've seen remnants of a few and only pulled one off of a car semi-intact. |
Wouldn't it be in the parts book? I did a quick flip through but didn't see anything listed or pictured. Maybe it's hiding somewhere. |
Come on, dude!

It was a quick glance! Geez!
Well there you have it folks. There should be a foam seal. |
Just for shits and grins... |
Not to beat this topic up too much, but what kind of seal exactly should we go with? If it is foam, should it be with or without rubber layers encapsulating it? what thickness and width should it be? The part description of `Anti squeak packing' is vague as to the exact material used. _________________ 1970 Baywindow weekender

Re-installed fuel tank and connected to fuel pump. Adjusted valves and went around the block. First time on the road since Fall, 2012. _________________ Everything known to man has been written.

Got it on the road from Oakland to Santa Cruz, checked the oil pressure to make sure my flickering oil light wasn't serious and swapped shocks with Mr. Steve Clatter.

My does (sounds) the same thing. Doesn't pop out of gears and the fluid level is fine so I just drive it _________________ '68 Lotus White T34 automatic sunroof
