Flap up or flap down? Read on.

I have searched this topic and found may wrong answers. The back piece of rubber is made so that it fans out nicely when installed one way.... and bunches up all sadly and won't seal a thing, when installed the other.
Which way is correct you say?
If you had never tried it both ways you might be confused.
If you have a piece of "original" rubber (that someone may have put in backwards)... you might still be confused.

You will not be confused if you simply take the time to put it in both ways and compare.
Then it is painfully obvious which way it goes.
To avoid all the arguments from the "experts" I have not divulged the proper way on purpose.
If you need to know message me. I would be glad to tell you.

I would think down. Another question is, does the flap go between the tin and the body or on top of the tin? It wants to flop down behind the tin, but you can get it to lay on top with a little effort.

You'd better at least divulge the maker and source of said seal, there's a few different ones on the market and no two fit the same.

There's only one firewall engine seal right? (the one above the flywheel).... not a 'back' one.... and a 'front' one... side...
Firewall is at the front of the engine... right?
Title's got me confused.

I always install them flap up, I would think it seals better that way. I usually take a flat stick after the engine is in and run it between the engine and seal to position it the way I like it.

Never mind the seal....I can't take my eye off the jack stands. If you stare at them long enough, you can actually see them starting to sink into the gravel. Freakin' me out.

Maybe Everett can't afford concrete? Better send in some donations before the bus falls on him!

Clean the track really well, then watch your knuckles and be gentle as you nurse it across with some gel type lube helps.

It goes back and up even though it looks down there's an up.

Now that's a nice looking motor.
