Preheater Tube: Painted or not?

Been cleaning and spraying bits and pieces within the engine compartment area and removed the preheater tubes. After cleaning all the goop and grime, it doesn't appear to have any paint or primer on it. Did they originally paint the at the factory? If so, what color?

Looks like Warm air tube to the heat exchangers but almost all tin was painter a Satin black. Use a engine enamel or powdercoat em
