Hello folks,
It's time for my annual announcement about the largest VW show in Idaho! From June 26-28 in and around Boise we'll host a full weekend of activities for all VW owners.
Friday evening we kick off at the (one of our fine sponsors) VW Boise dealership for a cruise in and our navigational road ralley!
Saturday morning, the swap meet will have that perfect doohickey your car needs for Sunday's show. A little bird told me a sponsoring shop next door will have something big in store as well!
Sunday morning we get to meet at a new facility for the main show! We love parking on the grass- and we've got it! Julius M. Kleiner Park will have room for our cars, picnics and fun for all. It also has nearby shopping and lodging. As always, it is a participant-judged event with all the trimmings: vendors, show shirts, raffle and hot wheels racing!
Please visit www.buspilots.com for more information- and please participate in this thread with questions and comments that help everyone!
Thanks again! Bradford |

Nice to hear from you! We don't have a host hotel- but have plenty of good choices around town. Since the various events are spread from Boise to nearby Meridian- I'd bet the easiest place to get around is to secure a hotel either near I-84 and Eagle Rd., or close to our Boise Town Square Mall/I-84.
Here's a couple Meridian/I-84 ideas:
Hampton Inn- 875 S. Allen St., Meridian 887-3600
La Quinta- right next door at 800 S. Allen St., Meridian 288-2100
These are both about 1 mile from anything you could want to do- but beyond walking distance because of the freeway.
Here's a good one closer to the center of all action- near Boise Town Square Mall:
La Quinta- 7965 Emerald St., Boise, 378-7000
I only wrote those of course because I would stay there! The one by the Mall is within walking distance of a ton of things to do.
I hope it helps- and we'd love to have you and everyone else from the Vesi and North Utah factions!

Sounds like a good time for your rallymaster to drop the first of a few Navigational Road Rallye hints!
Okay here goes. Since it's our 21st year, think "gambling" during the rallye.
Feel free to try and pry more hints and suggestions on here right up to the big day- it's coming up Friday, June 26!
Hope to see some new faces there! Bradford _________________

It is going to be an awesome show, the new venue will be amazing with lots to do for the whole family. awesome food vendors, a hot wheel track for the kids, the play ground, a water attraction for the kids, lots of shopping and park activities. If you get bored its nobody's fault but your own. Come see us, its going to be a great time. Also Friday nights cruise in, with the navigational road rally and prizes from the dealer is going to be amazing. |

Porkchop! You're alive! Nice to see you here- now I hope to see you there!
Really though, you missed a couple years where were able to park on the grass at Ann Morrison. We were the last car club with permission- only because of grandfathered reservations. In Boise the park and rec goals are vast expanses of grass that nobody is allowed to use. In Meridian, the park welcomes all sorts- even us. The venue has many nice features within walking distance.
Rick is right- the Friday night kickoff is fast-becoming the strong part of the weekend- please be here at least for that!
I'll have the driving temperatures lowered for you about 15 degrees that weekend and the Rallye this year is very SBS-friendly. You know I look out for you.

One week away- so it's time for rally navigation hint number two:
Trust the "T"- know that every "T" shaped intersection is really a T.
Bonus mini hint: As always, Simon Says. _________________

Looking forward to it- make sure you introduce yourselves! I'll be the horn-rimmed flat top guy with two or three people yelling at him all morning. _________________

Thanks sir! It was a great new locale. I am beside myself with appreciation for the huge number of folks who were willing to support the club in that heat! No fooling everyone, it was an honest 109 degrees during award presentation- and 110 for many folks while dismantling.
Not to mention the kickoff Cruise In and Nav. Rally- fantastic folks. The Swap gave us a little reprieve only because it started at 8 AM when it was a mere 82 out. Special thanks to my dear friends Craig and Maryn and my daughter Camille for the help with the rally.
Anyway, thank you all for a great weekend- here's a few photos of the show, that include the shameless shots of the Thing and my ragtop:
