I'm looking for the center bushing (indicated by red arrow) for an EMPI camber compensator
OR
Someone who can repop them using my NOS piece as a template.
Anyone know where they can be found? I've got two of these compensators and only one center bushing.

It's made of rubber and has an internal threaded piece in the center.
I'll post up photos and dimensions when I get home on Saturday. |

It appears the threaded insert (embedded in the rubber) is used in the design so that you can back out bolt "C" to remove it, thus allowing you to drain the oil by removing just the one bolt.
If you substituted a simple bolt/rubber bushing/washer/locknut assembly instead, you could probably use any old rubber/urethane hunk, drilled and cut to fit.
You might then have to remove the crossbar to get drain plug access, but how often do you need to do that? The fill plug is removed more often to check the level; the drain plug, not so much.

That's his name! I couldn't remember...last time I contacted him about the straps a while back he didn't have them and seemed to be winding down. I'll contact him and see if he's got a source.

Roughly 36mm in diameter, 17mm thick
Looks like a real thick washer/spacer with an internal thread.
M6x30 is what I have for a fastener. The instructions I scanned show a hex head cap screw but I have a round cap screw with a screwdriver slot.
This hole is 9mm in diameter:
If you look REALLY closely, you can see the seat for this thing. It's about 1mm - although I'm sure that grows in size as it's compressed.

I have another question:
How long is the bar supposed to be?
My NOS camber compensator is rougly 31" long. The other one, which looked to be original, is closer to 34" long.
Did EMPI make different length compensator bars?

Th 31 inch one is probably for a short axle bug or ghia up thru 65.

I recently picked this Camber Compensator up at a swap meet. I hadn't even considered that different models would require different compensators, I just assumed they were all the same. It does have a patent number stamped on it that matches the EMPI versions, but doesn't have any other identifying marks on it. Also, it measures out to just under 37".

I recently learned this myself when I brought my recently powder coated bar back to compare with the NOS unit I bought a few months ago. I never really thought that it would be shorter than the one I was restoring. |

Correct. But the bar that spans the axles should be the same design. |
