My field rescued 1963 Ex Catholic School Bus
Started as Turkis Green & Pearl white , you can see it coming through on the front lower part of the nose panel. Then sprayed over School Bus Yellow , Mother Nature done the rest for 40plus years.

I am the second owner of this car and I plan to leave the paint and body alone for the most part. It has just over 83,000 miles and still runs and shifts great. There has been no head work or anything else done to run modern (unleaded) fuel but the PO has used a lead additive since way back when.
This car is interesting mainly because of it's previous owner. The PO labeled, documented and dated EVERY part ever touched or replaced on this car. It is a really neat find for sure.
The car is very rusty but amazingly it has never been hit in the front or rear with the aprons being perfect. Another amazing thing especially for this area is the front spare tire well is solid as can be and does not need replaced.
I plan to repair what rust is necessary and try to hide what work I have to do. I will then preserve the patina as best I can. I do have an idea I may implement on this car but more on that later.

^^^ I agree, he was a leader in the movement. At least for VW's. Some of those photos bring back memories of fun trips long ago. _________________ nothing |

Holy sh*t you guys, you are too kind. We had/have a lot of guys into original paint and Patina in this area....going back to the '90s, was a fun time.
Some patina here at the shop I get to play with:
