There has been a handful posted like mine, in different lengths, and still no definitive answer as to what they are. The closest so far was the story about the guy who bought it with his bus from the dealer in '66, but it doesn't look like the VWoA racks in the first post. Hard to tell in the pic cause of the angle, but there's about 2.5 inches between the bottom of the rack and the roof.

It's the same construction as my OG VW rack:

Yeah, but still curious as to the maker of these. Awesome bus by the way! |
Here is one for sale in the ads
http://www.thesamba.com/vw/classifieds/detail.php?id=1579202 and the seller calls it a vwoa rack. I see one for sale on clist and think the original clamps were lost so someone welded something on 4 of the legs.

Here's my aftermarket rack on my DC made by Norcal Relics. I love it. I ordered a full length 8 leg for my bus and a ladder. Still need to pick it up!

Cool little rack that I haven't seen on many buses. I did see one other while surfing the classifieds for a bus back in August. I tried to buy that one to make mine a full length.

I've had this rack for a couple of years. I've done some looking around and can not figure out what brand or company manufactured it. Any ideas?

How about JB Fabrication?

Ask them if it is one of theirs?

Hi
I'm not sure on its original purpose it came from the Netherlands and I was told from a council type depot. _________________ 65 original paint so42 dormobile

be ko wa made similar racks that held fire hoses- there were missing overriders in the back like that to make it easier to get the rigid fire hoses on and off the rack in a hurry. Perhaps it is a purpose similar to that? |

|
|
I now have this roof rack which I know is a VWOA. My question is - my image search shows I can't find another two legged rack exactly like it. It has me thinking since it's too big for a Single Cab, is it possible this was made for a Dbl.Cab? I attached a photo from the gallery showing a Dbl.Cab with a three legged one & to me it looks slightly too big for the body. ?? Whadayathink?
