PostPosted: Thu Jul 30, 2015 7:06 pm    Post subject: PDSIT Questions. Throttle Plates Reply with quote

Tonight I had the throttle plate bushings go out on one of my 32 PDSIT's. It was dripping, the idle was off and the carb was out of sync.

I have a friend that might have a 32 / 34 PDSIT parts carb. Are they the same throttle plates? Or os the 32 / 34 bigger?

He said he KNOWS he has a set of 32/34. He MIGHT have a set of 32. I will find out tomorrow.

If this lead doesn't work out, I am going to get a set from user Boo-Koo-Z. He sells rebushed pairs for the PDSIT 32 for $110. Anyone used this guy for carb parts? Any feedback?

Joel is a good guy and Ive always had good luck with the parts Ive bought from him.

Another route is to get bronze bushings, and get a shop or someone to install them with tight clearances: http://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B006AWKGVU?psc=1&...ge_o06_s00

32/34 from buses have 34mm plates, 32/34 from type 3s have 32mm plates...but you guys never got those in the US.

get your throttle bodies rebushed, it's totally worth the money

Thanks for the info. I was afraid they were not going too be the Same size. I have a couple of local leads still working. If they fall short I'll get the rebushed plates linked above.

I've got tons of parts carbs and would sell you some parts cheap-I'd love to get rid of them.

Send me a PM if you're interested.

I would totally agree with you if I wasn't getting 26 mpg and buying a house in a few months. That will come.....Just not now.

Fwiw, I'll never own another type 3 without either stock carbs our aftermarket FI. This car does 75 all day without hesitation. So good.
