I just want to let people know that these bars will soon be available agin. I was able to get in contact with Pedro and get his permission to do a run of the bars.
This deal is still in its planning stages. I work for a manufacturing company out of Colorado Springs. It will take some times to receive the plans and jig and figure out cost.
What I would like to know is how many people are interested in a set of these bars? I will be producing the full set....2 sides and a back...to the same style that Pedro did. I will only offer the bars in the raw UNLESS I get a large call for people who want them painted.
If you are interested in a set, please let it be known. The more people that show interest the cheaper the price will be for everyone. I want to try and have the first sets ready to ship in the next couple of months. It will be sooner if I have a lot of interest.
Please post your interest in this thread if you want a set. I will send you a PM to establish a line of communication so I can let you know when production will start. _________________ My Old 64 Field Find

I would definitely be interested in a set. Raw is fine. Easier to color match to my car that way. _________________ Mike |

I am interested in a set of jail bars for my squareback. Raw is fine, easier to match car paint, faster turn around |

This project never left the ground because of lack of interest. I still only have the unfinished set that need to be measured, sawed and mounted into the windows. _________________ My Old 64 Field Find

I will look into it........
The project never left the ground because of lack of outside interest. I only had 3 people contact me with a want for the product. You would be number 4.
As far as finishing a pair, I do not have a Squareback at the moment to get information from. I recently sold my Square so that I could pick up an older model in the near future. I may have to save your information and get back to you. I will keep you up to date.
I will be out of town starting today till next week. Let me get back to you sometime next week. _________________ My Old 64 Field Find

that's his Squareback |
Pedro,
How are you mounting these? On the orange car, it looks like they are cut to where they squeeze into the window frame. Are they mounted in any way?
On the big bar in the back window, how were you able to get the bend into the bar without kinking the bar?
EDIT: Never mind. I figured out the bend. I just propped the bar on a curb and worked with pressure in the middle working outward until I got it right. Worked like a charm.
I am still interested in how they are mounted. _________________ My Old 64 Field Find

Found this in the thread, so that answers some of my questions.
On the big bar, that looks like some kind of off-the-shelf tube insert with a bracket. Can I get a part number? Looks like something McMaster car might have. _________________ My Old 64 Field Find
