Can someone direct me to a video on how one person can put the top up on the 181?

It has always been the biggest fight to do this.

Thanks

What I do is to climb into the back seat area of the car facing the rear. Grab the header bar in the middle and raise more or less straight up. It's kind of a quick snapping motion. Once the arms have fully extended and straightened out, you can lower the top onto the windshield.

Not regulation, but it works.

Is there a regulation way?

I have tried that but most of the time it will torque to one or the other side and jam. Maybe I need longer arms.

Of maybe you're saying the trick is to lift it up rather than forward?

If I get it working, I'll put up a video because I have searched for one and nothing found.

Thanks.

"By the book", it's a two man job.

I use Semper_Dad's method, and it works for me.
Just watch the hinged side rails, and lift the header bow in a way that makes both side rails snap into position simultaneously.

Good luck, Mondshine

I wondered if it was just clutzy me.

I can do it alone, but have to lay on the back seat and use my arms to raise one side and my feet the other.

I won't put a video up on that one.

Thanks.

The top is the biggest pain in the ass to owning these cars when you think of the easy of many other convertibles.
