Ugly. Crude. Utterly functional. And it's held just fine. If it fails, I'll synthesize one of the better and heavier brackets such as I see in this thread.

I run both filters. Cheap insurance.

The vinegar really cleaned it up nicely! I was able to get the upper mount out but the lower would not budge. I ended up bending the bracket trying to get it out. I went ahead and drilled a 1/4" hole through the middle and then chiseled it off. Here it is mounted up with the new bracket from BD and a nut holding one of them on.

If it will just stop raining down here in Houston maybe I can get it put on in the morning in time to head to the beach.

Finished the install and took it for a test drive. No leaks and everything looks to be holding in place. Glad to finally have this done. Would have been a bear trying to do on the side of the road.
