I know the flat window (71 and 72) Super Beetles will match up at the windshield cowl, but about 12" forward of that, nothing lines up. http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/album_page.php?pic_id=930408
I *think* they redesigned the hood to work with the curved windshield, so I think you are out of luck altogether for something "simple". There is a guy I'm trying to get a hold of that did one on a 71-72 (goes by Shindig) that I'd like to copy on my 71. He ended up moving the strut mounts forward, which I will not want to do on mine. I'm planning on running fenderless anyway, but as you can imagine, fenders will be near impossible. |

New to the site as far as posting. Seems to be quite a lot of information and cool stuff to look at. Anyways this is my winter project this year. 66 "volksrod". I'm not really going to do a build thread since its mostly complete but will post another pic of the finished project in a couple months. (hopefully) |

I have been wanting to build one of these things for a few years now my biggest question is on the front end not gonna lie I'm broke and was looking into flipping the arms I know a few guys have done this and know the right way to make it stable and safe I need a teacher lol |
Seek member rgdedge here on TheSamba (aka) TIMBO on Volksrods.com advice regarding flipped arms.
He has the most miles logged on this dirt turd planet using a flipped arm beam..
