Ok i know this might seem ridiculous to some. But i would like to lift my 2wd to be able to fit 16" wheels. mainly cause it looks so damn cool!
After my research i came up with two alternatives.
1. Go Westy lift springs front and back plus upper ball joint spacers.

The second alternetive is the cheapest one. But i rellay don't know the pros and cons of the two alternatives. And also, is there something i'm missing?
Would love some help on this one

The GoWesty lift spring will improve the ride quality. They're easy to install. and they're priced decent too.

Welcome to the Samba. Lots of info here on this in many, many threads.
Based on your post, I suggest you look at the Prerunner thread (for us other knuckleheads with lifted 2wd vans) for ideas: http://www.thesamba.com/vw/forum/viewtopic.php?t=389820&highlight=prerunner
Think about your goals in fitting bigger rims. Overall tire size (diameter) is more important than wheel size. (Some folks squeeze 18" wheels with low-profile tires under lowered vans.) Most would not go over 27 or 28 inches with a stock gas engine and transaxle.
Be sure to read through the "ultimate" wheel and tire threads in the FAQ section at the top of the forum.
Use the search w/ "2wd lift" or "lifted 2wd" to find hundreds of other threads on topic, with a wide variety of lifting strategies and consequences.

Note there are (At least) 3 ways to search. Often, I find searching via Goolge, MUCH better than the TheSamba search engines, but I give those a try sometimes.
The 2 Samba ones are:
Type the tetm in the "search this forum" box towards the upper right after you are in the Vanagon forum. You can click within title, yet it returns thread in which the term is not in the title?!
The other is choose Forum then the Search and that works a bit better.

| The 4th is once you are in the particular forum and enter the word or words in the search window, click the " title" box a d it will filter the specific word in the title of the thread...ie " lift " a d you wont get a thousand threads on interior mods that someone posted a sentence with that word buried 30 pages down. |

A lot of folks around here do not understand about putting the right key words in the title. Plus in some build threads are some very good info about different parts of the build that you are looking for.
Bottom line it takes a lot time sometimes to become a better educated consumer. Think of it this way, 3 plus hours of time is time well spent. This is the internet. Info is not handed to you.
