Does anyone have the measurements on the bushing that is used when you are putting a 12v starter in a 6v transmission? I want to make one instead of ordering one.

I'm also reading that I might be able to get an autostick starter and bypass the bushing needs. Anyone have experience with this?

Self supporting like the autostick starter is the only way to go IMHO, I don't fool around with starter bushings.

Auto stick starter from autozone.....remanufactured from Bosch. That's what
I use instead of the 12/6 reducer bushing. I think it was $45.00 with lifetime warranty. No brainer. I wished I would have learned about this starter before I bought my TMI high torque starter that was $200.00 bucks that's still in the box....lol.

Thanks guys. I will be going with the autostick starter also. It took finding the right threads and getting a solid answer from you guys to make me realize it was the easiest solution.

Also helps that there is one at my flaps. That means I don't have to wait. I was afraid that my build was going too be delayed.

If you have not done it or are not aware of it, the 6 volt bell housing has to be clearanced to take 12 volt flywheel...

Thanks Dale. It is on the list of "things to do."

Right now I am realizing that single port heads have a larger step in the two studs between the spark plugs. I needed to put on the single port heads because of single port tin.
