Maybe someone ( TCash ?) has images of the different heat control valves???
Early Jersey shows 021 256 205 C and 021 256 206 C . That should be for the 1700 and 1800 engines
The fiche for 75 - 77 bays shows either 021 256 205 K or L. and 021 256 206 K or L.
Dansk makes a repop that is the K variant and lists it 72 - 79 usually with a note that it does not have the air horn on top like 78 & 79 had on them. So not including 914 variants there is the /C, /K and /L. I can't figure what the difference is and which the Dansk version best matches. In fact that part is normally labeled /K but I came across a well known European site that indicates the part was originally the /L.
(1) Does anyone have pictures of what is different between the /C, /K and /L variants of the hot air valve?
(2) has anyone tried the Dansk version and how well does it work for you? What year heater exchanger system do you have.
I am asking now because winter will be coming soon and it would be nice to have an answer by the time folks start working on their heat systems.

The only difference that I know of (besides the dump tubes) is that some had different kinds of seals on the flappers. Maybe I missed something though. |

I have the Dansk repros and they work fine although my reproduction heat riser tubes where too long and had to be cut down. I had it all powder coated because I didn't trust the paint. The way the reproduction valves are made it is trivial to remove the "mushroom head" by dremelling off 4 small tabs. Then you can make your own dump tubes using appropriately sized ducts. (I like aviation SCAT air ducts). _________________ 1977 Westy, Automatic. Big Valve heads, CS Cam. |

Pics of the 79 heat control valve and the dump tube without the flex tube.
