I was cleaning up an air cleaner for my '56 single cab, and after gently stripping the original paint (what was left of it) I found this stamping. Is this some sort of date code? I've never seen this before, and a half-hearted search didn't turn up anything. This air cleaner wasn't associated with the truck at all - it's just a random piece I had in my stash.

those are marks put on the sheet metal when it was manufactured. I have seen body panels with USSteel markings on them. _________________ .

Bringing this back up from the dead...
I've got a bus air cleaner assembly that I believe is for a late 36hp, or possibly Bastard 40hp. Is there a stamped date code on the air cleaner to confirm? _________________ EMPI Power Rules! |
