|
|
OK folks, my supply in Australia seems to have dried up - who in USA or Europe continues to make close-ratio cogs for late Beetle boxes? I'm looking for around 1.5:1 third gear. Box will be late Super, off-set rib case, double-ring side-plate with a transplanted 4.125 R&P
I'm keen to hear of cog manufacturers ... and any parts issues, incompatibilities etc with using either a 4.125 swinger or IRS as a parts donor |

Scat, Ranco, Weddle, Berg all sell gears.
I don't know who makes them.
You can convert an early third to fit your trans. It is done by turning down the slider hub and/or boring out the gear a little so they fit.
1.48 is a common ratio. |

You can get 002 type gears from Weddle. They are made by Albins in Aus. But don't bother contacting Albins, they won't sell to you. You have to import the gears from the USA. _________________

Exactly. Most all the nice gearsets are now coming from Weddle. Funny they are made in Aus. but you can't buy them there. _________________ There are no stupid questions, only stupid people,
