Looking for direction....
Like others have read many pages before just asking question...
Mercedes rims 6.5j x 15 H2 ET49 WIll these fit without spacers or would they need to be adapted to make fit?

Just rescued an '82 adventurewagen. Guy thought he heard a knock and parked it 10 years ago in the Humboldt hills. I towed it away for $200 bucks, pressure washed the black off, evicted the rats and ants, towed it to honest engine. They scraped out all the varnish, fixed the rat chewed wiring (woodrats like shinny things) pulsed the injectors and, after much rattling of lifters, got it purring like a satisfied kitty in about 5 hours. Runs so well they say that it might be an original German engine.
It does run good!the gutters had gotten plugged and rotted all the woodwork out so that has been my project for this week. Looks sweet! Can't say I love the AW platform as much as my westy but it's cool. Freakin' real miracle.
Anywa, I want more stability with the high top and have found some rims. Audi 7.5j x 15h2 et 35 and I'm not sure that they'll work. I've already waded thru the What wheels fit feed and didn't find anything hard and fast on them who should I talk to to figure it out and get the right fit? Any advice is appreciated.
Also, I'm interested in maybe changing it out to westy interior if there is a donor out there.... Best, |

UPDATE:
ad in the classifieds state this:
New OEM Volkswagen Beetle wheels bought new at a VW dealer
Motorsports in Portland custom machined the wheels and had custom adaptors made to fit properly
UPDATE:
Info from Justin who's van is pictured below:
I had the centers bored out to mercedes specs, same as your CLK wheels. Lug holes opened up to 14mm. Custom hub centric spacers (20 mm rear 13 mm front I believe) along with longer Studs and small ball seat nuts from T3 technique.
205/50zr17 Continental Extreme Contact DWS with the extra load rating.
UPDATE:
2013 VW Beetle Heritage Wheels on a 1991 Vanagon.
Bored to 66.56mm, 10mm front spacer, 18mm rear spacer

Besides the need for machining the center bore (66.56mm is ideal), you will want spacers front and rear, small ball seat front lug bolts, small ball seat rear lug nuts and longer rear studs.

Is it possible to run a set of 16x7.5 ET51 wheels with 20mm spacers on a Syncro?
I can't seem to find that info anywhere. |

Does anyone know what wheel this is and where I can find more information on it? Some guy took them off his vanagon and is selling them for a pittance but I can't find any information on them and he says they were on it when he got the van. So he doesn't know what mods were necessary to get them on there.
Any info is much appreciated!

Those are Toyota Supra wheels. Wrong bolt pattern to fit a Vanagon.

Dang you're quick. How would he have pulled them off a Vanagon? I'm in desperate need of a decent set of wheels so I can get nice snow tires for the winter. I drive in all sorts of hellish conditions on I70 going back and forth and was hoping I could snag these quick : \
Ugh. You're right. What a pain. Good thing I didn't drive the hour down there just to find out. Finding affordable wheels has been a tough go. Thanks for saving me, I'm new to this.

The bolt pattern on the Toyota wheels is 5x114.3 and the Vanagon is 5x112. That is a 2.3mm difference, but it's only a difference of 1.15mm at the bolt hole. If the lug holes are large enough, you can bolt a 5x114.3 wheel onto a Vanagon, but it isn't safe and you would have trouble getting the wheels perfectly centered.

I was able to test fit a Nissan Maxima wheel (5 x 114.3) onto the rear on my van, but it was not what you would call an A fit and would have needed lugs with flat faces instead of the ball seats our wheels use.

Since it is just snow tires have you considered getting a set of steel wheels? Stock size ones are easy to get and in the 15 and 16 inch sizes Mercedes steels can be had for not too much.

Currently have 14 inch wheels with 27x8.50r14 lt tires.
Looking to go up to a 15 inch wheel and found some mercedes wheels with tire size 195 65r15
Will this work? |

195/65R15s are a little bit on the short side and the chances of them having an adequate load rating for use on a Vanagon is pretty slim. As for the wheels, they could probably be used, but we would have to know exactly which wheels they are to know for sure. Since there are quite a few Mercedes wheels that look identical yet have different specs, knowing the actual part number is essential.

Chris thanks for the heads up on the load rating. They wanted $250 for the tire/wheel combo but if I have to replace the tires, I'm only a few hundred dollars away from a go westy setup - hoping they have a thanksgiving sale discount

One thing to keep in mind is that even though the dollar figure may end up close to what some of the new wheels cost, you will always end up with stronger (and usually better fitting) wheels when going with an original Mercedes, Audi or VW wheel. The aftermarket wheels just aren't that strong. Check this out -
