just got off the phone with my dealer. new (zero mile) 2.5 short blocks are in short supply and once they are gone, it could be a while before they make more
however, factory rebuilds will be available for a long while yet. they take a bit longer to get and are a few hundred more than a new engine. they are supplied with a new w/p and new oil pump as well as a couple other odds and ends.
just thought I would pass this along. as it stands, an new engine with a load of stuff (timing covers, hardware, gasket kit, head bolts, sensors, oil pump etc etc etc...a lot of parts I am not going to type out) is 2,800 clams
unsure what the reman cost is _________________

What was the reason for the short supply? Its not an offered engine by Subaru any longer? _________________ MAKE FORUMS GREAT AGAIN

a guy in Connecticut keeps buying them
unsure...from what I was told, they tend to come and go. when they decide to pull the plug is unclear to me at this point. they still have 2.2 ready to roll as well. _________________

PSA? Subarus need a prostate screening analysis too? Just as it seems to get easier it gets more complicated. |
