I'm hoping someone can help me by posting a photo of an original BD deluxe / sunroof bus where the belly pan fits round the front outrigger. I think it's stitch welded along the front edge but I'm not sure and I want to get it looking right. There must be pictures on here somewhere but I've looked and can't find any, (it's been a long day at work and the bottle of red's running low so it may just be me!).

Thanks a lot to anyone who can shed some light on this!! The final bit of welding on my bus is in sight Smile

Ben

I don't have any great photos but there are a few of both the front and rear of my old 53 in my gallery. I would post just photos but I don't know how to from my website Surprised
http://thebustransfer.com/Project_Archive/Pages/53_Deluxe.html#46
The rear lip is folded down and has a series of beads about about a half inch each every few inches. At each bead the lip is tapped over towards the pan itself in order to get a better weld .
The front lip bends upwards and is basically the same, every few inches there is about a half inch bead. I think it may be about 4-5 beads along each outrigger. Hopefully this is what you were looking for and helpful
Great work by the way on the deluxe. Quite a task!

This is how my 55 dlx is. Mine appear to be single tack welds.
