Manx roll bar angle

Could someone please measure the angle of a standard Manx roll bar measured from the mounting flange of the body?

According to Bruce Meyers the windshield should be mounted at the same angle as the rear edge of the hood. The windshield mount bolts should be drilled on the seam between the hood and the windshield.

The rollbar should be parallel to the windshield

In actual practice I think most people mount the rollbar with a degree or so less rake than the windshield. There isn't a "correct" angle

" Bruce Meyers did have set standards for the Manx. I was working with him on a project a couple of years age and this is some off what he mandated. The top center of the wind shield should be 60" from the top edge of the rear seat area and 66 1/8" lower center to same spot at the rear. There is an anomaly on the right side of the hood about 1/2" give or take so you must use the body to square it off. If you are using a Manx Roll bar the bottom should be 6" up from the inner corner and 22'' from back wall corners."

When the Windshield is mounted like Nelson describes above, I have come up with a Windshield angle of 28* from vertical. This is measured with the tunnel level.

IMO, the single hoop roll bars look the best when they either match or are within a degree or two of matching the windshield. Too vertical and they look out of place.

For me setting the windshield angle was more difficult than the roll bar. There wasn't a visible seam at the dash to hood like the Manx.
Made a 2x4 wood jig to experiment with the angle. The jig instructions came with the Berrien steering column windshield mount instructions.

All said and done the angle was approximately 28 degrees from vertical as others have said. Using the jig made it easier to do alone.

Once the windshield angle was established the roll bar was easier to set using windshield as a reference. Used a cargo strap to compress the bottom legs of the roll bar to fit into the body without a big struggle. Set top of roll bar 41" from windshield top. The angle looks good to me and allows me to use the Sombrero top from TJ Kustoms although I have not ordered it yet.
