Nine years ago I had a magnetic sign on a 30 model A Ford that said I was looking for parts to restore Fords .A lady asked what else did I restore ? and how could she GET RID of an old Volkswagen .
I ended up with a FREE ; very rusty ; Karman Ghia Convertible .
The local younger VW people were much more friendly and outgoing than the old farts in the Ford club . I went from being the youngest of the model A club to the oldest of the VW group
Several bugs and a bus later I now have a nice finished 63 ragtop that I enjoy taking to shows
and an partially finished VW Type 6 Camper ( ? bus ?  ) that I am building for upcoming retirement adventures . |
That's awesome.
I didn't get to vote, but I would have only helped the winning group at age 31. |
