Stranded in Brawley California with a bad outer rear wheel bearing in my 61 westy. Small nut trans. Hoping someone may be able to lend a hand. I'll need a bearing and an axle seal kit. I'm on a 5 week road trip and have done 1700 miles already.

Braukuche (Dan) and Aeromech (Gary) are both in San Diego, try PM them to see if they can assist.

Been texting with Jake, he's handled. Bus towed to San Diego, he'll grab parts from Vee Parts in El Cajon tomorrow and should be back in business.

Feel bad that no one was closer who could rescue him, Brawely is really middle of nowhere...

Where in El Cajon? I know where Vee is but where is Sled? What bearing number is it? I can help with tools and such.

'Cept right now every baddass buggy rail and VW contraption is either passing through there or on its way to Glamis or Buttercup. There are BooCoo repair places for VW oriented breakdowns around there.

Thanks to everyone who got in touch with me! Thank you Joe for helping me out with the parts, much appreciated!

Have what I need, should have it fixed shortly and be on my way to Joshua tree!

If anyone finds themselves stuck in washington state, be sure to look me up.

I'll be playing with stinky gear oil for a while if anyone wants to stop by and shoot the shit

Wish I could trade this sand for your stinky gear oil! Savor the moment though, as these are the hidden fruits of the journey.
