I used a couple of pieces of scrap lumber to give a little wider base, and ratchet-strapped it to the jack. The lumber was screwed together so it wouldn't move around. The wood is 22 inches on the long side, 15 inches on the short side. There was no problem with stability, and the jack has a front-to-back tilt adjustment.

I sat the oil sump on the white part, and the differential sat on the 2X8. The jack is on four casters, so it will move easily in any direction.
