Was there ever such a thing from the factory, or at least from the dealer? |

Absolutely! I have had both a Hirschmann and a Bosch. I think the rare ones are for the PS. Haven't seen one of those yet. _________________ "My biggest worry is that when I die, my wife will sell all my parts for what I told her I paid for them"-Jon

UPDATE: Could not update my original post, so:
I was helping a friend with his antenna and realized that his antenna hole was further away from the drip rail than both my buses. If you are following the instructions I posted earlier, it will become evident after you make the first bend if my measurements will work or not. Just take your time, and make adjustments as you go and things should go just fine.
Also, the first bend at 2 1/2" can be shortened to 2" for a little better clearance, although 2 1/2" will clear.
I found a much faster way to sand down the aluminum rod. Use a DA sander with 80 grit sandpaper for a few seconds on 4 "edges" of the rod, then a few seconds more on the edges created to round it back out and that will be sufficient. No need to take off a lot of material. It goes by really fast. Now the thing that takes the longest is carefully cutting the black plastic base piece. Need to figure out a way to speed that up too. _________________ Alex

I did a standard antenna on my former 67 Deluxe with Safari windows. I put fuel line over the section I wanted to bend, and then use a pipe bender. It worked perfectly and I did not have to do such extreme bends.

I am new here, however I just had Safari windows installed on my 66 Bus.
I have been told there is a guy in Ca. that makes them and sells them.
714-516-9756 is their number |

I made this. But have not bent it yet as I am undecided which side to use it on-

Anyone know where/how to get a bent antenna for safari windows that is dual mount vs the single mount ones that are currently sold? |

I have a 66 SO42 that I installed safari’s on and apparently the holes are in a different location so that the aftermarket safari antennas won’t work. I’d there anyone that custom makes these? Thanks. |

If he still has it maybe ask him for measurements and buy his. |

Pics of the antennae that came on my June 9, 1967 SO-42. I cannot explain why!
