|
|
Just started having an issue where my power windows appear to not be getting constant power with the engine running. Back lighting blinks on both driver and passenger side. When I roll them up or down... they move, stop, move, stop w/ the blinking.
With the key in, they work just fine. It is just once the van is running.
I've searched thru and have not found any loose wires. Could this be a relay issue?
Thank you very much! _________________ 1984 Westfalia |

Could be corrosion at terminal contacts in the switch. That's easy to clean. Does the problem occur at both idle and higher RPM?

Thank you all for the help.
I had just cleaned the grounds and possible not gotten one 100% down. I went thru and cleaned them all up and it seems to have stopped. Fingers crossed it doesn't return.
Still have something funky going on. The passenger window is slow operating from the driver side. Works fine when operating from the passenger side. But I can live with that... Thank you! _________________ 1984 Westfalia |

That might be due to the length of the wiring or corroded connections. Resistance = slow movement.

Thanks Tom.
I'll have to remove the door panels and check all the wiring someday. The van has power windows, mirrors, dealer ac,... It's a mess of wires in the dash so I am avoiding messing with anything too much. _________________ 1984 Westfalia |

The switches will pop off without removing the panels. You can clean and/or exercise the connections. That solved my intermittent passenger power window problem.
