Looking to buy a part from vw76westy. But he hasn't replied to any of my emails. Plus he hasn't logged into The Samba since Dec. 23 of last year and he's not updating his ads. At this point I can't help but wonder if something has happened to the guy?!? _________________ 1970 Lotus White Panel

I went through an extended period where I could not get in touch with him. I believe he has a demanding job IRL and seems to drop out from time to time. When he did get back in touch, he was apologetic and sent the parts right away. I suggest you be patient, if you want the parts. He's a good guy -- just really busy. _________________ John

Thanks for the response guys. I'll be patient. I'm in no hurry for the part. I was more concerned that something bad had happened to him! _________________ 1970 Lotus White Panel

I saw Raul at a show in mid October. We spent a couple hours chatting about all things bay windows, VWs in general. He is doing fine. His job keeps him very busy lately, as well as his family. When I spoke to him I mentioned to him that people on the samba were worried about him (there was a previous thread similar to this one a while back), and he kind of laughed and said yeah he was aware of it. At that time (3-4 months ago now) he had mentioned to me that he was trying to keep his buying and selling of parts to a more manageable level because it was becoming a bit much for him to handle. Awesome guy, and if you ever get a chance to meet him he will talk bay window buses with you all day. That day I talked to him he was talking about trying to organize a bus camping trip in some of the local Southern California mountains in L.A. County. With the car show season starting here in SoCal in the next few months, I'm sure I'll see him again. Dude is just busy, but one of the most upright and honest guys I've met in the VW community. He will follow through on your parts, he just might take a while to get to it. _________________ 1968 Deluxe "Clipper L" Type 2
