This gauge came in my 57 oval when purchased is it correct? Is there an aftermarket float I can use to make this thing work? Any ideas? How does it hook up??

This is the back side there dead wires cut, and there is a bolt here in the fuel neck of the tank.

Most VDO gauges have a date stamped in them. All those red wires would be worrying me. Go up to the technical section above and click on it. You will find wiring diagrams there and the answere to many questions to come. _________________ Roads Scholar &

Red wires, who cares as long as they are in the right spot. It looks like my bus or ghia gauge. Use a ghia gas tank and sending unit. Looks like a motometer sending unit was used. |

That red wire was/is melted from a dead short from somewhere at some time. I would look for a bare rubbed through area |
