Has anyone seen my old '62 logo'd bus up in Northern California? I sold it a couple years ago to a doctor up by San Francisco and I miss her.
I'd love to see if she is still on the road. Has anyone seen her? Post a pic...

That bus has so many cool features on it. Not for the purists. But I love it.

Hey Guys, Thanks for the comments! Yeah, she was definitely a "Frankenstein" bus. But that was on purpose. When I found it, it was just a shell of a camper, with the wheel wells cut out - didn't think I'd offend too many purists.
I had always hoped to stumble on a solid “barn find” that was logo’d - patina'd on the outside, a time capsule on the inside. I've always liked the look of rust, but not the disintegration of real rust. A bus with a surf vibe, tiki touches and a little hot rod, too. Oh yeah, the bus had to be a 1962 - the same year I was born. Good luck finding that all in one bus, so I decided to create it myself!
Here are a few of the changes I made...
• Media blasted the whole bus on a rotisserie
• Welded in 3" tubs up front
• Welded up one of the side windows
• Added fender skirts
• Added 1957 engine lid
• Added 1961 turn signals front & back
• Creative Engineering rack-n-pinion
• Wagenswest 4" narrowed/ 4" lowered spindle / Mustang II disc brakes
• 1940 Ford steering wheel
• Did all the interior woodwork myself
This is what she looked like when I brought her home.

I live across the Pacific Puddle in Australia, so obviously I haven't seen your bus driving around but wow, thanks for posting those photos - that is an awesome and unique bus!
Being a surfer and also having lived in Vancouver (a long time ago), where do you surf in Canada besides the west coast of Vancouver Island? _________________ My brother & I on the roof of Dad's Splitty circa 1967 - I'm the half pint with the skinny legs! |

Hey KombiMadness.
I am a Canadian transplant here in Southern California. SurfCanada came from a love for all things surfing and my roots in Canada. Thanks for the positive comments on the bus, I miss her big time. Cheers. |
