looking for opinions of a good choice for a mild cam on a 2.0L type IV.
stock heads, stock crank.
CR? stock or up a little?
carburation of either the usual weber 2bbl or a set of Kadrons.
36dells possibly...
WEB, SCAT, RABY????

I'd say stock L-Jet FI with your stock cam. _________________ Wash your hands

You are going to have to supply more meaningful info to get any real advice on picking a cam.
For instance, a bus would want a different cam than a 914 or converted beetle.
Putting a good aftermarket exhaust would largely change things,
vs, just a header on heaters for example.
So,
Please be specific.
Any advice you might get based upon what you have given so far would be malarkey. _________________ Bus Motor Build

going in bus.
look up air-cooled.net exhaust pipes for oval exhaust heads.
they then attached to a header.
$1000 budget for total exhaust system. no heater boxes being used/needed.
other exhaust ideas??
AMC heads. |

Busses with too much cam are no fun.
Dual-pattern cam is the only way to fly for type 4s.
Better to order a proven off-the-shelf Type4store cam than a custom grind from Web.
So that basically narrows it down to one vendor.
If you run those EMW head pipes, you get a bigger exhaust - a good thing.
Consider maybe 42 x 36 and a good spin-balance job to compliment it? _________________ Bus Motor Build

For a low compression 2 l. bus engine with a good exhaust. Web #73, or if you want a little more upper end #86. Just stay below 8,3-1.
Tight deck, loose the cylinderhead gasket and flycut the heads 1,3 mm and youre on approx 8,1- 8,2 CR with bus pistons.
ACN has a low dur split cam that is in the neighbourhood of the old RAT 9550. That would be a solution too.
