I've seen Vanagons (not Syncro) with these tires on but my local tire guy claims that I have to lift the van before buying them (they're 275).
I have a '88 Vanagon which I'm planing to equip with pre '87 stock springs and Bilstein shocks for a little more clearance. Anybody had these tires on a Vanagon? Any problems? Thanks...

I think the size that works is a 8.5X27X 14. In the gallery, someone posted a pic of a Kumho on a bay in that size.

I have 27x8.5 bfg's on an 87 westie. No rubbing and I like the taller ratio.

What kind of ground clearance do you get with those wheels and tires?

I've got an '86 syncro that is stock. I want to put some taller tires and wheels without going balls to the wall with it.[/quote]
