Is there a good alternative to the crap casting that holds the aluminum dipstick tube? I've had 3 now that leak around a loose tube, and when we tried to TIG weld the casting disintegrated.
Surely there is a better way... _________________ Rosemarie and Paul Hill

If you have a tig, take a steel block off and weld a steel tube to it. |

Back in the day, the machine shop left my good case in the soup to long and destroyed it. The only comparable case he could find to replace it was a type 3. He drilled it for the dipstick tube like a type 1, installed the tube and dipstick. Drove that bug for years like that with no problem. Just use a steel plate to plug the hole left over from the type 3 dipstick. _________________ Rick
