I work with H2 a lot. Did you know that nobody got seriously burned in the crash? True! They all fell to their deaths. H2 is so light that it goes straight up, unless acted upon by a wind blowing it down. I have a cool video I took of a liquid hydrogen tank that I had to blow down ( depressurize) to be able to work on it. All the H2 went out the vent stack, and being liquid H2 it was -420f in the vent pipe. This causes the air around that pipe to liquefy and drop out. It is really cool to see. I'll see if I can find a way to link it here.

actually a lot,of people, got burned in the hindenburg. some died of their burn injuries. read the wikipedia article on the disaster. note that even non hydrogen fires tend to burn up, heat rises. a fire above you can also do you in do to radiant energy. I got a broiler in my oven, flame on top, yet I can burn my food which is under the flames.

Sad Curious on how many were here during the Hindenburg collapse.

Please raise your hands for a count...........just one so far........ME.

Do recall being in my school room class listening to either the actual happening or a radio playback at the time.....nothing to brag about as I was just 6 yrs old then. The radio announcer was CRYING a storm.

NO April fools joke on my end here.....just showing my age and the history.

You're the same age as my grandad... I'm 30.
Guys like you have taught me everything I know, and I plan to pass it along as well.

I do. But there are billions of people who do that.
