ATTENTION all locals who usually take the 67 through Lakeside to go to KQ!!!! Word has it that it will be CLOSED both ways through that area during the whole weekend! Check to make sure you will not be held up and/or find a way around it! _________________ Some people are so busy being clever they don't have time enough to be wise. |

Ev take the 15 to 78 east.
According to Serg above ground pits are allowed but it has to have some sort of cover. I'm putting a grill on top of mine. _________________ Phil 4:13 |

Found a cool road for the cruise. Looks like it is passable as the are a few houses. , it's called Volcan Mt. road. We would take the highway toward Julian, then the 78 Banner Grade to Wynola Eoad, then exit Farmer Road to Volcan Mt Road. Which makes a big loop through woods and scrub on a packed dirt road. Anyone ever taken this? |
sounds good to me...

Want to thank everyone for coming up to the Campout this year at KQ. We ended up with 21 buses by Sat morning and untold number of Heilites and other cool vintage camper trailers.
Best of all we ended up with some of the coolest people in the bus scene at least that I have met,but then as I have been told, I never get over the hill, so I imagine there are many more out there. There were a lot of familiar faces and a few new folk. there were several families with small kids running about so it was a nice mellow, no drama scene the way we like it and the way we're going to keep it.
The cruise portion was a bit of a FUBAR and I do apologize for that.unfortnately I cannot make out access restricted signs from Google Earth. In the future we will stick with the known quantity which is Boulder Creek Road and not try to get creative. The one big compensation is we didn't lose anyone and we found Nickle Brewing which is a very good microbrewery up in Julian.
Personally the best part is that my 18 years old son finally got his license and was able to.cruise up with me in his bus, a 1965 sunroof standard that I gave him a few years back and which he has a maintained since he was 13 or so. You can't put a price on that.

Dan, I really enjoyed the pics Cunado wear was sending me. Looks like you guys had a great time. I wish my dad had a sunroof standard he could have given me.
I hope to make it out there one year to this awesome camp out. _________________ SOUTHERN INTEGRITY AIRCOOLERS

I was wondering if anyone lost a popup. I almost lost mine at the baseball game on Saturday.
Nice turn out. Maybe one of these years I can go. _________________ Like a midget at a urinal, I'm always on my toes
