Progress on the drivers side bed side and engine vent install. Welded in the mounting strips.
The vents are in, but still lots of tack welds and grinding to go

Many imperfections left to hammer out, but these will be easier now that it is held in place

Just had a thought last night. What about the scoopes that the old Pontiac fiero had? The one that went over the roof. That would look neat on it. If you could fabricate it. |

Got started on the new Hood today. Plan is to make it look as much like the roof as possible

Are you going to leave this thing primer and rough, or eventually paint? I vote flat black
Is that hood going to leave enough room for the rear window to open?
Looking awesome! |

Thanks! The current plan...so much of the sheet metal is badly pitted that instead of slathering it in body filler (or replacing every panel) I am leaning towards spraying the truck with a light crinkle finish bed liner material. Black, offset by the chrome and stainless.
And yes, there is still room to open the rear window, though it must be shut to open the hood.
Got up early and welded in the rear of the hood. Still need to weld in the corner pieces, the underside and smooth.

I favor the crinkle finish also, but in Red. |
