|
|
Am running 48 IDAs on a 1776 engine with the following specs;
69 x 90.5
40x37.5 heads match ported manifolds
1 5/8" competion header
2" Magnaflow muffler
37 mm venturis
205 air 125 main F7 emulsion tubes
Engle 130 cam
MSD Ignition with 6AL2 box 32 degrees total
Running through a Berg 5 4.37 r/p and .82 5th
Carbs are dual circuit. 3rd has not been drilled out.
Problem I am having is trying to drive through traffic at 50-60 mph am toggling between 4th amd 5th. 5th bogs at 2500 rpm. Seems like I am having to stay on the cam to keep the car running. Is my jetting ok? Or do I need to rethink it, bigger venturis maybe? _________________ Jake |

I run the same but a 125x1.25s cam at sea level I run 140m/170a/f2andf7/37 vents and I run 70 idle and run real nice with 2 and now with 3 holes. You can use this to improvise to get where you like.[/u] |

48s on a 1776 always poses problems on a small engine. Sounds like your mains are a bit small. I wonder how your transitioning thru the main circuit even pulls. Try a bigger main like a 140 and work your way up. _________________ 2276 IDA's 86C 11-1 DD !

Got it figured out. A couple of the progression ports were plugged on two of the barrels. Unscrewed the plug, shot some carb cleaner in there and worked fine. _________________ Jake |

On my 1835 I am running 60 idles and 130 idle airs f11 e tubes with third hole drilled and 37 vents. Smoother than a babies ass and so far the mpg seems good but will be able tell better when I put some miles on it.
