Bus Mud flaps are on sale from CIP1. Are these the VW logo ones you have to adhere the letter "V" on after you get them? Anyone bought these from CIP1, quality? Looking to put them on my 74.

They probably say VW but they can't advertise them.

I went down to pep boys and got some generic flaps for $20. A lot longer than the stock style ones.

They said they only have the EMPI logo or the year versions. No one is allowed to have the VW brand any longer. Found a set on Samba a month or so ago, but had to make my own brackets. I used stainless hinges. I don't think the flaps are OG because they have plastic logo, but not sure, but the logo is one piece.
Good luck in your search. If you find a set with the VW logo, don't think, buy!!

Any options pop up lately (Spring 2016) in regards to VW logo mud flaps?

Ebay seller in Turkey has them for >$50/pair without hardware. I like the logo, but over $100 for a set is a tough pill.

I have a pair of unused (still in their original packaging Very Happy ), GENUINE VW accessory, textile-reinforced, black-rubber, rear mud-flaps, with the Wolfsburg emblem, which are surplus to my needs.

The VW Type 2 rear mud-flaps which have been fitted to my 1973 VW Type 2, since the early-1980s, have completely flat, smooth backs, with no vertical ribbing. I had to fabricate my own full-width, one-piece attachment brackets (bolt onto the bottom of the wheel-arch mud guards and the VW 1600 Type 2 engine's chassis-attachment brackets), from off-cuts of duralumin, because none were supplied with the mud-flaps or listed in the VOTEX accessories brochure.

Here are my spare 1968 onward, VW Type 1 Beetle mud-flaps, which as I write, are winging their way across the oceans, to Port Macquarie, New South Wales, Australia, where they will adorn a recently restored 1971 VW 1600 Type 2 Microbus L.

A couple of years ago I purchased some gowesty front mud flaps. They worked and looked great. Mounted on the backside of the front jack points. Even made a small cut-out to be used with the side step.

So, I purchased a set of the rear flaps from them. The General Grabbers like to capture and release rocks at will.

The rear flaps are basically the same as the front. When mounted they would follow the curve of the rear inner fender liner and therefore be at a 45 degree angle and not perpendicular to the road.

Had to bend the metal brackets slightly to get them to hang straight down.

Work and look good. But I might make the rubber a bit longer. The local O'Reilly Auto Parts has semi truck mud flaps of various thickness in stock. Just have to trim it to what I want. One flap can easily do 2 for the bus.

Just a heads up.

Here's the 68-71 Bay mud flaps I just picked up. Funny thing is I didn't even know what they were for when I got them. I was just going to adapt them to what I have. Little did I know they were the exact factory piece for my both of my Bays.

Hello to all.

This is how we mounted ours.

At first we had to collect everything to do the job right.

Then tightened the brackets and the flaps.

Next step we took the wheels off and marked to drill the holes.

Since we are still runing 1584cc we had to switch the brackets from left to right to work well, until we start runing a type IV engine.

Then tightened the bolts, however not enough so we could balance the flaps horizontally.

At last, after the balancing procedure we tightened the flaps and the brackets.
