Oil bath air cleaner question?

I'm trying to install a oil bath air cleaner on my 72 bus type 1 engine, the reason is because after put the engine on the bus and cruising couple times, I see oil splash on my battery and all the right side of the engine compartment the reason was the nipple where I put the oil! so I found a the oil bath cleaner, which I like install but, the problem is with the line that comes from the charcoal canister; where I can connect this hose?
Because the oil bath cleaner what I have only have one nipple, and I guess is for the oil breather, any suggestions thanks.
And what I'm supposed to do with the flap on the oil bath?

do you have a 1971 upright style engine installed in that 1972? If so the photo from the 1971 owner's manual is below. The north American 1972 originally had dual air cleaners and dual carbs I believe.

That oil bath needs the bowden cable that hooks up from the passenger side flap to the lever on the preheat flap on the oil bath.

That style of oil bath was used from 68-70 on buses, bugs and Karmen Ghias.

That is correct but, how many still have the flaps let alone the cable

Lets do hope that owners are reinstalling all the important LITTLE items
that were shit canned by independent wanna-be VW mechanics.

To the O.P., wire the flap weight open if it is still operable.

The main reason because I want to put the oil bath air cleaner, is this nipple on this picture, splash oil all over the engine compartment, any other way to address this problem! It would be helpful.

Excessive blowby is caused by worn rings, worn guides, or excessive timing advance - or any combination thereof. You can add the hose to the oil bath and it will direct it into the oilbath.

Yeah Bill, those" arrogant " fools spent too much time looking at 'how to hotrod
your VW' @ the drag strip.

I was fortunate to start my dealership training between 2 old timers from the
fatherland in 1971
This was the best way to teach a youngster and for me it really paid off for
the first 3 years there.

We did everything by the book every day. there were no short cuts by leaving
parts off and when i started at age 21 there we had the wonderful type-4
to look forward to also
I learned so much from those older guys and will always be thankful for
all i learned from them.
